PROPERTY OWNERS HERE KNOW HOW HARD WINTER PUSHES.

Pittsburgh sits in Climate Zone 5, where long heating seasons meet humid summers and hillside homes catch wind from every direction. Brick rowhouses in Lawrenceville, split-levels in the South Hills, and new builds out toward Cranberry Township all leak air in different places, so we never quote from a template. We inspect the framing, check where moisture collects, and match foam type and thickness to what each building actually needs. That approach serves homeowners, general contractors, farmers, and facility managers across Allegheny County and well beyond it.

FOAM APPLIED RIGHT THE FIRST TIME NEVER NEEDS A SECOND VISIT.

Spray foam performs only as well as the hands that apply it. Our technicians prep every surface, spray in controlled passes so the foam cures evenly, and check coverage before anyone packs up a hose. Once cured, the foam does not sag or settle the way loose fill does, so the comfort you notice in the first week keeps showing up on your utility bills for many years afterward.

OUR INSULATION SERVICES

WHAT WE DO

From a single cold bonus room to an entire warehouse, our work covers 14 insulation services for homes, farms, and commercial properties. Each one starts with a free quote and a close look at your building.

Residential Spray Foam Insulation

Spray foam fills the cracks, seams, and odd framing that fiberglass leaves open, so rooms hold heat in winter and stay cooler in summer. We treat attics, walls, and basements in existing homes throughout the region.

Inside an attic, wooden roof trusses and planks are visible, with insulation and a blue object near the back.

Attic Insulation

Most heat escapes upward, and an underinsulated attic lets it pass straight through the roof. We spray the roof deck or attic floor to stop that loss, steady upstairs temperatures, and help limit the ice dams that form along gutters.

Basement Insulation

Foundation walls stay cold and damp for months in Western Pennsylvania. Our foam seals block and poured concrete walls so a lower level can become a warm workshop, playroom, or finished living space without the musty air.

Wall Insulation

Exterior walls leak air through outlets, top plates, and every stud bay left half filled. We spray open cavities in remodels and additions so each wall becomes a continuous air seal that quiets street noise and evens out room temperatures.

Garage Insulation

An uninsulated garage pulls cold straight into the bedroom or kitchen beside it. We foam garage walls, ceilings, and doors so the space stays usable year round and stored tools, paint, and vehicles avoid harsh temperature swings.

Whole House Spray Foam Insulation

Treating one room at a time can leave the weakest spots untouched. Our whole house approach seals attics, wall cavities, basements, and garage ceilings in one coordinated project, so the entire building envelope works together instead of in patches.

Common Questions

frequently asked
questions.

Spray foam raises fair questions about materials, moisture, and how the work fits an older home. Here are straight answers to the ones property owners ask us most, before and after the first foam goes on.

  • What is the difference between open-cell and closed-cell spray foam, and how do we choose?

Open-cell foam is lighter and softer, which suits interior cavities and sound dampening. Closed-cell foam is dense, rigid, and resists water. We weigh your framing, moisture exposure, and goals before recommending one or a combination of both.

  • Are your materials made in the United States, and are they safe for a home?

Yes. TrueFoam LLC uses American-made spray foam materials on projects throughout Pittsburgh, PA. Once fully cured, the foam becomes an inert, stable solid. Occupants simply stay out during spraying and for the re-entry period the manufacturer sets.

  • Does spray foam add strength to walls and roofs?

Closed-cell foam can. As it expands and hardens inside stud cavities, it bonds framing and sheathing together, which increases racking strength and resistance to wind uplift. Open-cell foam insulates well but adds little structural support.

  • Will spray foam settle, sag, or need replacement later?

Properly installed spray foam holds its shape. Unlike loose cellulose or fiberglass batts, cured foam bonds to wood, masonry, or metal, so it does not compress over time and typically lasts as long as the building without top-offs.
